Annual Canvass of households
Tewkesbury Borough Council have nearly finished this year’s work on the Annual Canvass of households in the Borough. As you know, the canvass is their way of trying to make sure that the information on the electoral register for every address is accurate and up to date.

In the last couple of months, every household will have received either one or more letters and/or emails from them, containing information on what residents needed to do to make sure that their household was fully registered. Reminders were sent as required, and they are about to start on the final stage of information gathering which involves a team of canvassers visiting properties where responses are still outstanding. The personal canvass stage will run from, Friday 25 September, to Monday 19 October.
Their canvassers will carry identification, which residents can double check by calling Electoral Services (our canvassers will have numbers for the team at weekends and evenings). Canvasser working hours are limited to 0900-1830 Monday to Friday and 0900-1800 Saturday/Sunday. Canvassers will not need to enter a home. If no-one is in when a canvasser calls, they will leave a card and form, which will provide information on how residents can respond.
Their website has been updated with information regarding the personal canvass stage, and they will also use social media channels to publicise their visits.
